Continuity
Although Steele & Associates, LLC has operated in its current format since 1999, its founding partner Benjamin Steele has practiced in Carson City since receiving his CPA certificate in 1979. We are committed to the area and the clients we serve, some as long as 20 years. We have taken the time to build a staff that reflects our value and ethics. Although no guarantees can be made about their future plans, we believe we have a stable work force.
Continuing Education
The Nevada State Board of Accounting requires active members to complete 80 hours of continual education every two years. We strive to have a minimum of 50 hours each year for our professional staff. All members of our professional staff completed their required ethics courses in 2007.
Quality Control Processes
As a member of the AICPA, we are required to have a peer review every three years. Peer reviews involve an independent, rigorous examination of a member firm’s system of quality control with respect to its accounting and auditing practice. The peer review process also encompasses reviewing reports, financial statements and relevant working papers for a representative sample engagements and issuing a written opinion and , if applicable, a letter of comment on the quality control process.
Pulliam & Associates, Chartered performed our most recent peer review, which covered the system of quality control in effect for the year ended November 30, 2006. Pulliam & Associates, Chartered issued its unmodified report dated July 24, 2007, on the Firm’s system of quality control, which was accepted by the Nevada Peer Review Committee on February 28, 2008.
